SizeHamlet
RegionDarkin
Der-maki is little more than a small collection of houses that marks the rough border between the lands of Darkin and Last Home. The buildings of Der-maki are set into the crumbling soil at the edge of a wadi, and are constructed of earth and mud-brick. Water is a constant issue, being stored in clay jars when the wadi floods and then conserved till the next storm. (Harshness 15)

Korom
KeywordsPort, Ur
SizeHamlet
Korom is one of a number of small port settlements that follow the route of the Canal and the Ravenway across Ur Island. Sited to the Darkwards of the Canal and the road, Korom is a small fishing port on the banks of the main river channel that flows to the Nightwards of the island. Boats sometimes put in here from small villages such as Amora Village.

Korom is a collection of stone and stucco buildings surrounding a small shallow bay where boats can anchor. What wood is to be seen in the place is old and weathered, from the time before the island was cleared. It is under the administration of a single Bonded One.
Lion's Elbow

SizeHamlet
RegionOne River
The unimpressively named Lion's Elbow is little more than a hamlet in the depths of the Poison Forest. It's claim to fame is that it forms the port closest to Last Home on the Lion's Path. Merchant's routinely use it to load and unload cargo on its way between Last Home and Ur so as to bypass the muddy treachery that is the Lion's Path.

SizeHamlet
Ninit is a tiny settlement in the Ash Forest Nightwards of Wind's Canyon. Fed by a single mineral-rich spring, Ninit consists of a handful of wooden houses set into the forest floor and roofed in pale ash-coloured bark. Ninit has often been used as a base by bandits. The trackless Ash Forest makes it hard to find to anyone not very familiar with the route.

SizeHamlet
RegionLast Home
Shurruk is a scrappy and rag-tag settlement not far from The Black Pits. Subsisting mostly on animals that have been poisoned by the fumes rising from the Pits, the inhabitants of Shurruk are stained black with grime and tar. Water, metal, and crops are all in short supply here, and the people are ready to turn to Banditry if they can get away with it. A trail winds from Shurruk, past the Pits and eventually joins the Steps between Der-Maki and Sirara.

Still Water
KeywordsSpring, Cattle
SizeHamlet
Still Water is a small village lying at the Sunwards end of the Pass of Eagles. Its most significant feature is the spring fed oasis pool that gives it its name, though the surrounding trees can be spotted at some distance across the razor grass plains. Small houses of mud brick and grass thatching ring the pool, nestling beside a tumbled ruin. Although the locals are willing to offer many personal theories on the origin of this ruin (fort, palace, mage's house) no history actually remains, and much of the structure has long since been robbed to build the villager's houses.
