WFRP stands for "Warhammer Fantasy Roleplaying". WFRP is a system based around the Warhammer world, as made popular by the wargame Warhammer Fantasy Battle (WHFB). Although fairly popular WFRP was largly dropped by makers Games Workshop, who passed all responsibility for new material to Flame Publishing. After some years Flame lost interest, and the game was given over to Hogshead Publishing in 1996, who managed to produce a new campaign within about a month of taking it up, as well as re-publishing a new run of the only edition of the game so far written.
