About the Temple

You approach the Priest and ask him about the Temple.

"The Temple? Yes my child, I can tell you about its origin. Once in the very distant past we are told that our fathers built a huge temple here, far larger than the one now here, and worshiped all the Gods. People came from all over the world to visit this temple, and the lucky became initiates, and were privy to the secrets held in store by the Gods for the Temple."

"Then came a great war, details of which were lost in the ages after. The Temple was caught up, and the power of the evil Gods who sided with the attackers meant that the Temple was destroyed."

"The Temple became nothing but a ruin, and over the ages it faded all away, leaving nothing but a rude shrine erected by peasents."

"Then, in the year 530 of the reign of the House of Shamar, when Rolant, Great-Grandfather of the High King and Cousin of Ramedal, Great Uncle of our beloved Empress, was still just a newborn babe in his mother's arms, a group of priests rediscovered this shrine and realised the significance."

The Priest is really getting into this now, and a few other people have gathered around. "The Priests at once began to build what would soon be one of the most famous temples in all of the Grand Empire. Their work also attracted various others, such as the so called Wizard, and thus a Village was founded to serve the temple."

"Now the temple serves as a site of pilgramage from all over the Empire, and houses many ambassadors, high priests, and appartments where disciples and monks can find rest and time for prayer. In addition we guard the catacombs left by the ancients, protecting them from would be adventurers, and those that come to seek the Door with Four Locks."

You can ask:

  1. Where is the Door?
  2. What of those that say the Wizard built the town?
  3. But what God do you worship here?
  4. Thank you

Priest: "The Door is over in the corner there." he points "Beside where that Guard stands to see the passes of those who may enter."

  1. Thank you

The Priest looks angry. "They are fools that do so. No man of magic can ever equal the power of the Gods or of the faithful. I have even heard it said that he was dead long before his followers came here and built that house in his memory.

  1. Thank you

Priest: "We worship all the Gods of light, Habros, Cleidar, Molent, and the Sun twins Sumer and Sufar, as well as all their demi-gods and devas."

  1. Thank you
