Week 1
Ivar reveals that he has found the real father Mord, who's ashes the party thought they were spreading in Stenabrek. The poor man is quite mad, held in the tower with the other insane people. The party tries to get some sense out of him, but the best they can guess is that the Skaalsrup has stolen his name and form in some way. They try and exorcise him, and he simply shrivels up and dies as if he had no real life force.
Week 2 to 4
Training resumes, Ina moves in with Beorn due to a shortage of rooms. Snow falls, locking people inside the city, but the training pace does not slow.
Week 1
Lent begins, Eilif gives up talking for a week.
Week 2 to 4
In decides to take her new recruits for an expidition into the sewers to give them a bit of unit experience. This turns out to be a disasater. They run into a Rat King and its Giant Rat pack and many of the recruits manage to get themselves pretty injured, some by the rats and many by panic and confusion. Two of the recruits die when oil is set on fire and Eilif is badly injured by the Rat King. His wounds become infected and it requires the rest of the month for him to recover.
Week 1 to 4
An uneventful month. Much training, and planning for the Spring campaign against the Trolls
Week 1
With the first signs of the thaw the party decides to head for Scarsmouth and the Lion's Eye shrine to recover the key left there by Tanse years before. They have realised that their actions many have released the Skaalsrup, and they are determined to do what they agreed with the Gypsies and recover the 12 keys. They spend much of the week getting there, only to find the shrine devestated. The key remains however. They also find a riddle, previously unseen, that gives clues as to where more of the keys may be found, on the isles.
Outside they are confronted by the Skaalsrup, who strikes Ina and leaves a white mark in her hair. It seems scared of the Key, however and fless from it. The party is then trapped in the Abbey by an unnatural snowstorm however. While there they realise that the Skaalsrup may intend to keep them there for some reason and determine to brave the snows to escape.
Week 2 to 3
The party set forth and attacked by wolves. They defeat them but Olver is very badly wounded by the beasts and can make it no further than Jarrow where he insists the others leave him to recover. They hurry back to the city but find nothing amiss.
Week 4
A week later Olvar returns. Practically the next night a new evil appears, a Giant man calling himself Ozmarduk the Destroyer appears in the chambers of Ina, Skeggi, Eilif and Olvar. He slays one of Ina's knights, destroys Skegii's men's equipment, and nearly burns the tower of the Exorcists to the ground. He tells them its a message from his master, Osir. The man appears to be able to summon fire with a gesture, and simply laughs off Olvar's attempt at Abdjuration.
Week 1
The party, smarting from Ozmarduk's attack, decide to step up their hunt for the keys. Having spoken with Ivar about the Castullians they choose places where the keys might be, such as the Holy Sekar, the Monestary of Dunleo, and various parts of the isles. Ivar also shows them the secret book of Ebron, which describes the origins of the Skaalsrup and lists the Dark God's greatest servants, amongst whom is Ozmarduk. Ivar cannot believe that the man that attacked them is the same as the one mentioned in a 2000 year old text, but the rest believe it to be true.
The party go to the Monstary of the Holy Sekar and find one of the keys hidden amongst some ancient carvings. Eilif, unfortunatly, manages to get poisoned by the poisoned resin attached to the woodwork and spends some dayes recovering. Skeggi is accused of a crime and dragged off to jail.
Week 2
Skeggi goes on trial. At the trial the new Master Knight of the Templars appears ... and is Vigdis! Vigdis speaks on Skeggi's behlf and he is cleared, though demoted. The party are furious at her re-appearence, but can do nothing against her since her traitorous acts have been kept secret. Both Olvar and Halfdan have to be dragged from the court, however, and Skeggi is furious.
Week 3
Demoralised and confused by the trial, and furious at being demoted to being under Ina's command again, Skeggi walks out of the fortress in a rage after an argument and quits the knighthood! He returns to his old master, in a dueling school, and hides out for a few days. Both Ina and Eilif seek him out, however, and to escape Angred's wrath lie on Skeggi's behalf so that no one will know he is missing. Eventually Skeggi is persuaded to return. Meanwhile Archon Hussu has a vision that the evil bone brought back from Stenabreck will be attacked and stolen by agents of the Shadow unless the party do something about it.
Week 4
The party make plans to hide bone and set an ambush. When the Black Star cultists arrived they are overwhelmed, but they have not counted on the presence of Svartskalla the Assassin, servant of Setis, who wounds Eilif badly with a posion blade, nearly completes the theft, and escapes Ina by leaping from the edge of the Cathedral cliff! Still the attack has been defeated.
Yet more letters of heresy arrive at the church! A second letter from Dalmation, and one from X denouncing the overzealous worship of saints ahead of Atur. An Archon's council is held and both documents declared to be heresy. This is quite a blow to Olvar, who is the mysterious X! A couple of people work out that Olvar wrote the papers, despite his attempts to conceal the paper trail, but do not reveal him.
The Knights begin to move troops to Eregal once more.
Week 1
The health of the Archpriest takes a turn for the worst. Some people begin to fear that he as but weeks of life left. He has begun to issue apparently insane proclamations. Many of these have been quietly supressed, but he has commanded that the war against the Trolls be won for good by Midsummer, so there is only a month to go! The party plans to join the army on Eregal and then, assuming the great battle Perion plans is won, they will spend more time in the isles hunting the remaining keys that may be there. Before that they decide to go to the ruined monestary of Dunleo, where there may be another key, the trip takes three days, stopping on the way at another ruinged Castullian monestary where they find nothing.
Week 2
The party learn that Dunleo has become the home of a foul wyrm. As if this is not bad enough the ruins also prove to be haunted. The party is dragged into a nightmare reliving of the monestary's destruction, during which Skeggi is so badly afrighted that he gains a curse of nightmares ever after. Escaping the ghostly vision they confront the Wyrm, and in a battle to the death Ina manages to defeat it and recover the Key. On the way back to Tanaloth they encounter a party travelling north from Stenabrek, including Gunnar, Nothri and Anturka, who they guide back to the city, Three days later they sail to Eregal.
Week 3
The party sail to Eregal. On Wyre they join the fleet, and one of Skeggi's men runs away. At the end of the week they reach Eregal itself and join the army. With the addition of the final troops Perion decides its finally time to begin the final battle. He plans to breach the Troll's lines and drive onto the planes of Golgotha where he will meet them in battle and destroy their fortress.
Week 4
The Battle of Golgotha
For two days the battle rages across the plane of Golgotha. Battle is met at the foot of the mountains and again at the foot of the Troll's great fortress. The battle is nearly a disaster, for the numerical advantage of Perion's 15,000 men is not as great as he hoped and Ozmarduk himself seems to be leading the Trolls! The Priests, led by Olvar and Eirik, are hard pressed to overwhelm his dark magics, but manage to do so. Once agian their experience in the South turns the battle.
Early on in the battle the commander of the Order cavalry is slain and Ina takes over. In a daring move she manages to flank the Trolls and destroy their supply lines. With Skeggi holding the line's center, and managing to save the army from a disasterously misgiven order, the first line of Trolls is routed. Hours later the armies battle again at the foot of Golgotha itself, but this time it seems that the Trolls are in retreat. Ozmarduk is vanished and many trolls flee into the mountain as the Cavalry charges them.
After stiff fighting the second line of the Trolls is broken and the human army pursues them into the passages of the mountain itself. In some places the blind tunnels becoming a killing ground as the Trolls turn on the Carls, but in most places the Trolls seem to be fleeing in panic. When the knights reach the far end of the mountain, however, they find that the Trolls have somehow concelaed ships in their secret harbour! Although the knights regroup they cannot prevent a large mass of the Trolls escpaing out to sea, since they have been fleeing since the second battle, leaving only a suicide guard behind. Once again the Trolls have proved tougher foes than expected.
However, Eregal is free of trolls, Golgotha has been conquered, and the battle is won.
After the Battle
Casualties are high, but could easily have been higher, so there is much celebration. Both Ina and Skeggi lose two people from their units, losses amongst the bannermen are similar. These losses, however, are lower than the 30% or more losses amongst the rest of the army. Most of the party are only lightly wounded except for Skegii who has taken terrible wounds. During the next day, as the dead are burried or burnt Skeggi takes a turn for the worse and they rush him back to the castle for treatment. He takes over two weeks to recover.
Week 1
Skeggi recovers. Back at the castle the army limps home over the course of two weeks. Both funerals and celbrations are held, and the men are rewarded. There is double pay and a remission of all sins for everyone involved. Many soldiers are promoted to take the place of their own fallen commanders, and the leaders of the battle are given prestigious promotions. Ina and Beorn both become Thanes! Later in the week, as troops start to set sail, a strong force returns to the ruins of Golgotha to investigate it more. They find many strange things, including Ozmarduk's chambers, barrels of explosive substances, and strangest of all huge mine workings where it seems that something was excavated by the Trolls. They face the possibility that the Trolls were willing to retreat because they had found whatever it was that they were looking for.
Week 2
Skeggi is finally well enough to move. The party take ship back to Wyre, to look for passage to the outer isles. They also suspect one of teh Keys may be on Wyre. However the chapel where they think the key is hidden is under repair, and they cannot seem to get there when noone else is around! Eventually they meet a beautiful and seductive deacon called Ingegard, who suggests that she might be able to persuade the Hierarch responsible for the repairs to leave the place empty for a day, if she had something to give him. She suggests that there are some valuable papers, stolen from the church by a hermit some while ago. If they could persuade the hermit to return the papers then she could give them to the Hierarch.
The party agrees to the deal and goes to find the monk, Saevil. Saevil is less than cooperative, but after the party cleans up an old shrine for him they get his trust and he reveals the papers to him, works written by Yesuva himself! The party take the papers and copy them twice. One manuscript they return to Saevil, the other they give to Ingegard.
