Despite this call to arms the meeting was far from easy. First Guild Master Nichollas announced that he would be forced to step down, to maintain the illusion that he was still loyal to Rall he was forced to travel on a mission that would take him out of contact for many months. After a touching farewell the remaining members went to the inn to plan their assault, only for a fight to break out between Groling and Talathonos! In the Inn Groling claimed to be a member of the Worgen race, a rogue from behind the Gilneas wall ... a wall guarded for generations by Talathonos' family. Talathonos hotly denied that any could have escaped, Groling in turn claimed to have slain the watching guards when he did so. Combat was only prevented by Alviana's intervention, but both Groling and Talathonos left at speed. As a result it was a much reduced group that made it's way into Silverpine seeking the Scourge camp where Pelontir was sure the letters had come from. The camp was not hard to find, but it turned out to be heavily defended by Scourge minions, requiring stealth, rather than brute force, to enter. Pelontir, Alviana, Asfalath and Estel made the attempt, penetrating some of the buildings in the base, but were quickly discovered and surrounded! Realizing that they had been expected, and were now almost caught in a trap, the Lux members fled, fighting their way through the tightening cordon of undead. Estel was separated from the rest, who forded the lake beyond the base, fighting undead Murlocks and werewolves, before finally reaching the safety of the ruins of Dalaran. Guild Master ChangeOur current Guild Master Nichollas will sadly be unable to play for the next few months while at University. For this reason it was decided to promote one of the commanders to GM for that period. A vote was taken by those present for the RP meeting on the 6th of September, and Alviana was chosen to be the temporary Guild Master. News from PelontirFollowing the meeting on the 14th of August, Pelontir took the encrypted letters to a Sage far in the Northlands, hoping to learn the secret of the connection between Van Cleef, the Defias and the Circle. He kept the Guild up to date on his progress using the magical speaking stones. At the start of September Guild members gathered once more in Westfall to hear his report. They learnt there that the letters were from the Scourge! The Scourge, it seemed, was behind the actions of Van Cleef and the Circle, both of whom were using the Defias as convenient tools for their plans! What plans? The letters sadly did not say, though many leapt to the immediate conclusion that it could only be a repeat of Stratholme and the Plaguelands, this time in Stormwind! Determined to learn more the Guild agreed to gather their forces at Southshore the following week and try to trace the letters to their source. Chasing the CircleOn Friday 14th of August the Guild met at the tower on top of Sentinel Hill in Westfall, to pursue our investigations into the Circle of Emo. Alviana revealed that Arqwen had seen the false Rall speaking to a Defias agent in Stormwind. For this reason she had gathered the guild to infiltrate the Defias base at the Deadmines in Westfall, searching for any information about the Circle's plan. A number of Lux Veritatis gathered, along with members of our Allied Guilds Before we began Pelontir revealed that he had been attacked while in Nagrand by three men who turned out to be Defias agents! He'd managed to fight them off and escape, but it was clear that the Defias and the Circle were working together to attack Lux leaders! Alviana agreed to distract the Defias sentries by riding circles around their base with her lance and banner-boy. Meanwhile Pelontir, Estel, Lirael, Aticus, Hirumi, Frake, Razorneck, Ripjaws and Weebs split into two groups to attack the base. With the scouts distracted the teams were able to hit the Defias hard, fighting their way to the heart of their base, where they faced the local Defias leaders. With the Defias shocked and scattered the two groups searched for clues on the Circle. Estel was able to uncover some hastily burnt papers which the Defias had failed to destroy in time, while Hirumi located a hidden lock-box containing encyphered documents. With their possible evidence in hand the two groups re-convened at the tower, though Weebs, on the way, was overcome with the Death-plague that afflicted him, causing one group to scatter. Back in the tower Pelontir agreed to take the coded papers to a distant sage who might be able to decipher them. Guild MeetingOur next meeting has been arranged for Friday the 14th of August, at 6pm server time. Come to the Keep at Sentinel Hill in Westfall for an attack on the Circle of Emo forces at the Deadmines. |
