Below, you will find links to Amazon for a number of excellent recordings. You can check out both the rock and jazz links. Younger guitarists often fail to see the importance of jazz to a rock musician. If you want to learn to play improvised solos, most aspiring rockers do, then it is imperative that you add a little jazz to your listening diet. Jazz musicians improvise better than anyone else does because they do it all the time and have refined a number of techniques to assist them in the process. Here is a very small selection of recordings. Not all of the jazz links will be featuring the guitar exclusively and some will not use the guitar at all but they are still extremely valuable tools. If you get really serious about soloing then you should be open to the possibilites of transcribing solos that are played on instruments other than your own.
