Read a book. It's amazing what you can learn if you just pick up and read a good book about music. Listen to lots of music! And towards that goal you can peruse recordings in this vein that Mr. Lovell has found useful over the years. These two points should be stated again. Listening to music and reading about music cannot be overly stressed for any musician or would be musician, regardless of level. Videos are also a great source of information and can serve as something of a surrogate instructor complete with shots of the teacher's hands. If you feel that these suggestions are just too difficult to apply practically, then perhaps you need a little direct help. That is what teaching studios are all about. Nothing can quite replace the richness of studying and interacting with a great teacher. So find a teaching studio in your area and sign up for lessons. If you are in the north Dallas area and would like to study with James then feel free to email him for more information. Enjoy!!!
Mel Bay's Guitar Class Method This is a text that my favorite guitar instructor used and I have found it to be more interesting than the standard Modern Guitar Method by Mel Bay.
The Guitar Handbook - This book, by Ralph Denyer & Andy Summers, is more of a reference rather than a straight ahead method book. The scope is very wide.
