~^~ A Visit with Anne, and Brunch in the Park ~^~

Thursday ~^~ July 10, 2003

I did get up a bit later than usual today, but I was on time for my appointment with Anne Cliffe. We talked for about an hour and I'm sure we'll get together in the future via email if not in person.

Tim & Ruth Stuck came by with their boys and we went up to the Parque Metropolitano and had a brunch in a glade in the middle of a large eucalyptus woods. We got back around 1:00 and Adriana was just rushing out of the guest house - she was unable to start today until 4:00 but said that she would stay until 7:30. So I had the afternoon free to take a nap.

Anne-Marie came by to visit with her girls and shortly after she left, so the nap was short-slept, but that was okay.

Adriana arrived and we had a lesson. About 6:30 Lois Reimer called my room from the dining room and asked if we were going to have supper. I had not made arrangements for Adriana for supper, so I hadn't wanted to be rude and eat in front of her, but I was told there was plenty and not to worry about it. At first, she appeared to feel kind of strange eating with us, but after a while, it was fine and we enjoyed the meal together. I'm glad that she stayed, and I think it was a good thing for her to be served instead of being in a position to serve.

We finished supper, went back to the room, and she gave me homework for the next day. It would be a short lesson, since I would be checking out of the guest house and moving over to Anne-Marie & Michio's house later that evening.

I guess it wasn't all too eventful of a day, but between the stress of the sunburn and all that hospital stuff yesterday, on top of the "scandal" on Tuesday moving out of the B&B, etc., I was just wiped out tired.

I'd been waking up in the middle of the night gasping for air - not sure if it was the lack of oxygen in the altitude or just chest congestion from my old cold or what, but I decided to leave the window open even if it got cold ... and I'd just raise the number on the electric blanket if I got too cold. That worked.
