~^~ Day Four of Class Reunion / Dinner with RuthAnn and Elsi ~^~ Thursday ~^~ July 3, 2003
Another gorgeous day today. I got up early and put some laundry in the washing machine, ate breakfast, and then went back to my room and fell asleep. Got up to put the jeans in the dryer and another load in the washer, and went back to sleep again. I guess I was tired! After a couple of loads were done, I decided to save a couple of bucks and I hung the clothes out on the line to dry in the sun.
Anne-Marie called and I went over to the mission and we drove up to pick up her older daughter (Linda Joy) and then went down Amazonas again. We stopped first to eat lunch and have coffee, and then went back to the Otavalan market where I picked up some of the things I had seen the last time and decided I wanted to get for family and friends.
She drove me back to the Guest House and I read a bit and then RuthAnn DeFlon and Elsi Peñaranda picked me up for dinner at their house, which was a lot of fun, talking with them about all kinds of things over a home-cooked meal. I've known RuthAnn since I was about 4 years old and she was in language school with my parents in Costa Rica.
They dropped me off at about 9:30, I read a bit more, but decided I'd better get my journal entry written and get to bed since I had to get up fairly early in the morning to go to the hot springs in Papallacta for the day. I was hoping that Antizana would not be clouded over when we crossed the continental divide. It's the most awesome view of my absolute favorite snowcap.
